Carla : Kara, even when there's few groceries in the house that just means I have to be more creative. Although I must confess Frank and I have started to get into the habit of eating out lunch on Fridays. I love it. I told him I could get used to it oh, about seven days a week!
Kara: We eat out because we never have groceries in the house, especially when I'm on a deadline (like now!)
Carla: Kara!Kara is one of my good writing buddies and she helped me figure out part of this! Thanks Kara, and thanks for stopping by. I love reading your blog!Hopefully I can be as entertaining as you...although we don't eat out as much as you and Rob do. Heck....we NEVER eat out!
Kara: Hi, Carla! And hi, Sulome! You must get around 'cause you've been to my blog recently, too!
Carla: Sulome',Hey. my very first visitor! Thanks for stopping by. I think this is going to be fun.

Blog Blahs

I've done some blog hopping over the weekend and found it altogether depressing.   A lot of the author blogs I visited talked about the writing industry, the latest publishing news and gave tips to would-be writers.  Other blogs focused more on the authors personal lives, their interesting hobbies and exotic travels.  And it depressed me.

I think what I'm suffering is blog envy.  Part of the problem is there is no focus to my blog.  I'm not targeting writers, would like to focus on my readers, but my life isn't exactly the stuff of fantasies!

Most of the day is spent with my butt in my chair in front of my computer.  What traveling I do is through the fictional lives of my characters and even then I tend to write characters from small towns in the midwest, not foreign cities or romantic islands.

I've tried to develop hobbies but I always resent the time they take away from my writing.  I made a couple of ugly beaded necklaces, crocheted a blanket that I wouldn't let my dog sleep on and painted some bird houses that the birds posted For Sale signs on.

So, dear readers, I guess you're stuck with the mundance details of my life for the time being.  Hope I don't put you to sleep too often!

Take care,

Carla
