Laura: Your editor IS reading this! 300 pages in 3 weeks? And a Harlequin hard on its heels... well, if you need more time from me, just ask (it's a September 08 release--I'm pretty sure I can give you an extra couple of weeks if you need them!). Now QUIT SMOKING! xo,LC (PS--I'm thrilled that Paint it Red is in Walmart already! That's great news.)
Sandy: Hi Carla,Great news about starting out the continuity series. Also, wonderful news about Paint It Red. Willie's doing a wonderful job on your website. It's even better than the last time looked at it. You go girl. You deserve all this good stuff.
carla: Thanks guys, I'm really excited about finally having a web site! Now if I can just figure out a way to get people to stop by!
Bob: Great new web site, Carla. Also congrats on the continuity deal and the bookclub feature.

medicine: good article!
Sandy: I love your website, Carla. Willie did a great job.
Carla : Kara, even when there's few groceries in the house that just means I have to be more creative. Although I must confess Frank and I have started to get into the habit of eating out lunch on Fridays. I love it. I told him I could get used to it oh, about seven days a week!
Kara: We eat out because we never have groceries in the house, especially when I'm on a deadline (like now!)
Carla: Kara!Kara is one of my good writing buddies and she helped me figure out part of this! Thanks Kara, and thanks for stopping by. I love reading your blog!Hopefully I can be as entertaining as you...although we don't eat out as much as you and Rob do. Heck....we NEVER eat out!
Kara: Hi, Carla! And hi, Sulome! You must get around 'cause you've been to my blog recently, too!
Carla: Sulome',Hey. my very first visitor! Thanks for stopping by. I think this is going to be fun.
Sulome': Hi Carla, Welcome to the wonderful world of blogging! Looking forward to reading more from you. Kindest Regards, Sulome'

Editor Alert!

And here I thought I was writing a dumb little blog that nobody was reading and my editor shows up!  Oh My God!  I suddenly feel the need to write something totally brilliant, but the pressure has stolen all my brilliance!

Of course, I'm saving all the brilliance for the last pages of the book I'm writing.  (does that sound good?!)

Actually, it's almost ten o'clock and I've discovered that most of my brilliance shuts down at around nine.  I can remember a time when I'd write until two or three in the morning.  Now if somebody calls my phone after nine I'm irritated that they are calling in the middle of the night.  I remember my parents telling us no phone calls after nine and I thought they were the oldest people on earth.  When did I become my parents?

Last week at our chapter meeting one of our members talked about all things paranormal.  I love paranormal and have two manuscripts started that I've never done anything with, but intend to someday.  I'm not much into vampires and werewolves, I prefer psychics and true battles between good versus evil.   One of the manuscripts I started is kind of a Linda Hamilton from The Terminator meets some of the elements of King's The Stand.  I think it could be awesome but it's after almost ten now and my brilliance has turned off.

So, on that note I'm going to say a very unbrilliant goodnight!

Oh, and for anyone who might be interested I have a booksigning coming up at Rainy Day Books in Overland Park, Kansas at 3:15 on Sept 22nd.  I will be signing with fellow NAL author Jerri Corgiat.  If you're in the area, drop by!
