And a Harlequin hard on its heels... well, if you need more time from me, just ask (it's a September 08 release--I'm pretty sure I can give you an extra couple of weeks if you need them!). Now QUIT SMOKING! xo,LC (PS--I'm thrilled that Paint it Red is in Walmart already! That's great news.)

Carla : Kara, even when there's few groceries in the house that just means I have to be more creative. Although I must confess Frank and I have started to get into the habit of eating out lunch on Fridays. I love it. I told him I could get used to it oh, about seven days a week!
Kara: We eat out because we never have groceries in the house, especially when I'm on a deadline (like now!)
Carla: Kara!Kara is one of my good writing buddies and she helped me figure out part of this! Thanks Kara, and thanks for stopping by. I love reading your blog!Hopefully I can be as entertaining as you...although we don't eat out as much as you and Rob do. Heck....we NEVER eat out!
Kara: Hi, Carla! And hi, Sulome! You must get around 'cause you've been to my blog recently, too!

Belated Happy Valentine's Day

I meant to get here on Valentine's Day, but as usual life has been crazy.  So, a belated Happy Valentine's Day to lovers everywhere!

It's odd, as a romance author, I suppose I should do more to celebrate the holiday, but this year we did nothing special.  For the most part, my husband and I are fairly romantic with each other on most days and I'm too practical to want a dozen roses that will die or a stuffed animal that I'll eventually give to somebody else.  Candy would have been good (candy is always good) but we're both trying to lose a little weight.

I've been working on a number of projects.  I've been asked to do a serial read for eHarlequin and I've almost got it finished.  These are definitely challenging to write as you have to get a lot of story and a cliff-hanger in every short chapter.  The one I'm writing is to introduce my May release, With The Material Witness In The House, and to kick off the beginning of the continuity - six books with gothic elements and lots of creepy characters!

I've also gotten the go-ahead on my next idea for Signet Eclipse.  It's the most ambitious book I've tried to write so far and I'm terrified and excited to work on it.

Finally, I'm finishing up the second book in a three book series for Harlequin Intrigue - three ex-Navy Seals who have set up a company and repossess high end cars, planes and boats.

So, that's been my life lately - work, work and more work.  And I love it!

And just a reminder to everyone, it's only 17 more days and Every Move You Make hits the stands!

Read a Carla Cassidy novel - and don't turn out the lights!

That's the end of this self-serving publicity announcement.  Now back to your regularly scheduled programs!

Thanks for stopping!

Carla
